Back in the Water Again
So after 12 weeks and no diving, it was good to finally get back in the water again! It felt strange getting the dive gear together again, setting up the camera gear and jumping into the water! Everything felt normal once again as I took my first few breaths and I sunk below the waves.
I also was able to test out my new BCD as well. After a few minor adjustments on the positioning of the back plate and the shoulder straps it now fits perfectly.
I took my about 15 mins to find my form photographing again but soon got into my stride finding customers underwater and snapping them in their various positions. My first day back wasn’t a particularly busy boat so I was able to take me time editing and showing photos on the way back. It was a nice gentle first day back on the job. A good few days diving ahead before the boat goes into the boat yard for its MOT.
The boat was them out for a few days after that and by day 2 it was like I never left. It was great being back on the boat, seeing friends and crew and being back in the water again. You sometimes don’t realise how much you miss diving when you can’t do it that often.
One thing I really do like about Green Season diving is fewer people in the water, more relaxed customers, easier boats, sometimes better weather and more importantly more sharks around. Hopefully a sign of a good season ahead as we saw 2 female Leopard sharks on Hin Bida. We haven’t seen many Leopard sharks on this dive site in the last year and a bit. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come and the females will attract the males in. Finger Crossed!!!
